As we know the NBA playoffs are beginning and with this season being shortened due to the lockout, teams are eager and excited to have reached this point. With the Mavericks slipping to a seventh seed and looking to face one of the hottest young teams in the league, they will have a tough time defending their NBA Championship.

Another team with a lot of questions as they head into the playoffs is the Miami Heat. Coming within two games of winning the NBA Championship last year after putting together a Super-Squad, one could only wonder if they can finally get it done this year. Dwyane Wade is no stranger for waiting for a second year for things to fall into place. When he joined with Shaquille O'Neal in 2004, it took the two a second season before winning the NBA Championship. The Heat however, will have their rival, the New York Knicks in the first round. While they swept the Knicks during the regular season, Carmelo Anthony is no stranger to playoff basketball and he will be ready for his arch-rival LeBron James.

Kobe Bryant will be looking for ring number six this year. Since arriving in the NBA, there has been constant comparisons to Michael Jordan. Many would have their own opinion on this subject, however if Kobe can lead the Lakers to the title this year, he will tie Jordan for finals victories. The Lakers will be faced with a very tough Western Conference, that features the Spurs, Mavericks, Thunder and Clippers. However the Black Mamba is more determined than ever.

The Chicago Bulls will be lead by Derrick Rose as they for the second consecutive year are the number one seed in the East. When the Bulls play as a unit, they are one tough team to beat. However in a conference with the Heat and Celtics, it will not be easy.
