Black Celebrities Involved with WrestleMania

WrestleMania is the best spectacle in Sports-Entertainment. For wrestling fans, its bigger than the World Series, NBA Finals, Super Bowl, Stanley Cup and even the World Cup.  Each year during Black History Month, WWE celebrates the black performers who made their mark in the business. However, there has been a number of celebrities who have performed at WrestleMania.
Note- This list does not include black celebrities who were in attendance.

Mr T. WrestleMania I & II
Mr. T was a very important part of WrestleMania. Many could argue that without him, WrestleMania may not have had the success. He was one of the biggest movie stars, and he was feuding with the biggest heel in wrestling. Mr. T in the main event of WrestleMania I was best for business. And with Mr T and Piper having such a huge rivalry, the two would square off again at WrestleMania 2 in a boxing match. Mr. T would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014.

WrestleMania The Matches That Should've Happened

Hulk Hogan vs Rowdy Roddy Piper
Hogan vs Piper
During the 80s, Hulk Hogan and Rowdy Roddy Piper was the biggest rivalry in the WWE. WrestleMania I featured these two in a tag team match.  With Vince McMahon investing everything he had in this pay-per-view, it was understandable that having Mr. T apart of that match and Muhammad Ali as a special enforcer. Im not saying that WWE went wrong with Piper vs Mr. T, but Piper vs Hogan at WrestleMania
Triple H vs The Rock
The Rock vs Triple H
The Rock and Triple H was a classic rivalry. One of the best in the attitude era. These two started at the low card, moved to the mid card and right into the main event. When Stone Cold Steve Austin went down due to injury, the rivalry between The Rock and Triple H became the forefront of the WWE. These two had epic battle throughout 2000. The Fatal Four Way match at WrestleMania 16 was too much, that match would have been a classic if it was just The Rock and Triple H, with the Rock finally getting the belt back after chasing for 11 months.
 Beth Phoenix vs Natalya
Beth Phoenix vs Natalya
Natalya and Beth Phoenix are two future WWE Hall of Famers. A match between these two for the Divas Championship or Womens would have been great. It would have been a technical wrestler vs the glamazon. The fans would be able to find out who is the absolute best female wrestler in this generation. The story writes itself.
Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan
WrestleMania VIII goes down as the WrestleMania that could have been. Many of said that the match between Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan at Madison Square Garden did not generate the crowd reaction that they were looking for. However, In the Hooiser Dome, Im almost certain the crowd would have popped for that match. The way it would have been marketed WWE would have had hardcore WCW fans tune in to see if their guy would beat Hogan. What is sad is, WCW got this match, and rather than save it for their biggest Pay-Per-View, Starrcade, we got it during the summer at Bash at the Beach.

 Randy Orton vs John Cena
John Cena vs Randy Orton
We got John Cena vs Batista, but never got John Cena vs Randy Orton. WrestleMania 24 would have been the best time for this match. Triple H was a huge star and he did end up winning the title at Backlash that April, but Cena Orton being the two biggest stars in the past decade, it is hard to believe that we never got a one on one match at WrestleMania between the two.
 CM Punk vs John Cena
CM Punk vs John Cena
In 2011, CM Punk became a household name. He became box office. He nearly did everything prior to his unexpected departure from the WWE. The one thing that eluded him, the main event at WrestleMania. The Rock and John Cena had a date with the main event slot at WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami. And while Punk was champion, he was not in the main event. After the Rock stated that he was determined to win the title at the following Royal Rumble, he was set to be in the main event at WrestleMania XXIX. Unfortunately for Punk, there was more money in a Rock-Cena II match than forcing Punk in the main event. But if Rock never comes back, John Cena vs CM Punk in the main event at WrestleMania in a bigger
CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan
CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan
We got Hogan vs Andre, we got Bret vs Shawn, but we never got Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk. Main event or not, this match would steal the show. The chemistry that these two guys have are off the charts. I will go on record and say, this match would have been the greatest match in WrestleMania history. The wrestling between these two have always been there, but the stories they would tell in leading up to the match and in the ring would be epic. At this point, the only chance we have at this match is if CM Punk makes an epic return.

WWE Fastlane Predictions

In 2015, WWE is introducing a new PPV on the road to WrestleMania, Fastlane. Fastlane is taking the place of Elimination Chamber. The following are the predictions of Mr Main Event Brian Waters.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
The Usos (C) vs Cesaro and Kidd
This match could go either way. The Usos had the best year of their careers in 2014. They dominated throughout the year after winning the tag titles prior to WrestleMania XXX. They held the titles for 202 days before losing them to Gold and Stardust. On the December 29th edition of Monday Night Raw the two would regain the titles from Miz nd Mizdow. Cesaro and Kidd have had their issues with the Usos, but their biggest issue seems to be Kidd's wife Nattie. While Nattie has been seeking attention from her husband, it has costed Cesaro and Kidd a few matches. Naomi will be at ringside to  keep Nattie out of the match, therefore this could go two ways. Nattie could cost the Usos the titles, which would lead them to a feud possibly going into WrestleMania. But I believe Nattie will cost the Cesaro and Kidd the titles causing a bigger rift between her and Kidd. I also believe this could lead them to a rematch at WrestleMania where Cesaro and Kidd could go over. Here is another point to think about, Rikishi will be inducted in the Hall of Fame, so if Cesaro and Kidd are victorious, it would be a nice touch for the Usos to win the titles back at WrestleMania.
My Prediction Usos win
WWE Divas Championship
Nikki Bella (C) vs Paige
Paige was just edged out of the Diva of the year by A.J. Lee, but since she has arrived to the main roster, she has been a force. Nikki Bella defeated A.J. to become the Divas champion at Survivor Series with the help of Brie. The reason Nikki was number one contender was because she received help from Brie who at the time was forced to be her personal assistant. Brie no longer has to be in the position, but she is choosing to do so. One can only wonder if she is picking her spot before she takes a stab at her sisters title. While Paige will be looking for vengeance, especially since the Bellas have been constantly making fun of her, including taking away her clothes, Brie will be there to cost Paige the match and then ultimately turn on her sister to set up a showdown between the Bella twins at WrestleMania XXXI.
My prediction Nikki Bella wins
20150126_EP_LIGHT_fastlane-matches-HP_6manSix Man Tag Match
Ryback, Eric Rowan, and Dolph Ziggler vs Seth Rollins, Big Show, and Kane
Since Team Cena defeated Team Authority at Survivor Series, Ryback, Eric Rowan and Dolph Ziggler have been on the Authority's hit list. First, they were fired, then once they were brought back, their lives have been a living hell. Each time they are in a one on one match, the authority finds a way to get involved. At Fastlane, Ryback Rowan and Ziggler will find a way to finally overcome the Authority.
My prediction Ryback, Eric Rowan, and Dolph Ziggler.
Goldust vs Stardust
In 2012 Goldust lobbied on social media to wrestle Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 28 in a Miami Street fight. As WrestleMania 29 approached, he stated that he no longer want to wrestle his brother. When he returned to the ring in 2013, the two teamed up and took on all comers. In October 2013, they defeated the Shield to become the new tag team champions. They held the titles through January before losing them to the New Age Outlaws. When Cody Rhodes made a transformation into Stardust, they found a new attitude and once again became tag team champions. After losing the titles, Goldust seemed to let it bother him. Instead of encouraging his brother, Stardust attacked on him. When their father, the American Dream Dusty Rhodes, made an attempt to reconcile them, Stardust simply told him, Cody is dead. This should be a brawl, but in the end Stardust will outsmart his brother in a way that these two will end it at WrestleMania.
My Prediction Stardust

 WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Wade Barrett (C) vs Dean Ambrose
The night after the Royal Rumble, Monday Night Raw was scheduled live in Hartford, Connecticut, but it was canceled due to a blizzard. Ambrose went to the Arena, but since the show was canceled he walked to the WWE headquarters in Stamford. (1 hour drive) On that night, Ambrose decided he wanted his face to be a on a poster at the headquarters. In order to get this done, the Intercontinental title was a must for him. After weeks of chasing Barrett for a contract signature, finally Ambrose tied him to the ring post and forced Barrett to sign it. Ambrose who was always a lose cannon has raised it up a notch since the split of the Shield. Although Ambrose some epic matches to Rollins and Bray Wyatt, his payoff will be at Fastlane.
My Prediction Dean Ambrose

Special Face Off
Triple H & Sting
Triple H has made it very clear, there is nothing more important to him besides his family than the WWE. Sting has yet to say a word. This will be story telling at its finest. In the end, this will set up Sting vs Triple H at WrestleMania
My Prediction Sting vs Triple H at WrestleMania XXXI

WWE United States Championship Match
Rusev (C) vs John Cena
This will be the biggest United States Championship Match in ages. Rusev has been the immovable object since his arrival to the main roster. He has yet to pinned or submitted. Now that Rusev has taken on all comers, who is left for him to solidify himself than John Cena. After Cena's interview at the Royal Rumble fallout, Rusev made it his business to interrupt the 15 time WWE Champion. This match will be a dog fight, but we will see Rusev find someway to get himself disqualified in order to keep his US title.
Winner John Cena by Disqualification
Winner faces Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXXI for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan
The winner of the 2015 Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns has been a on the fast track to the main event since the split of the Shield. Reigns has said that he used to swimming with the sharks. Reigns will be giving up nearly 10 years of experience to his opponent Daniel Bryan. Bryan and the Yes Movement took over WWE which led to Bryan becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 30. Bryan was stripped of the title after being forced to the sidelines with a career threatening neck injury. In December, Bryan stated he would be back and vowed to win the Royal Rumble. After coming up short, Bryan reminded everyone that he never received a title shot. After earning a match against Reigns, he has showed a new attitude and proved to Reigns every week that his youth and size does not intimidate him. These two have not been able to gain the upper hand on each other and I do not think that will happen at Fastlane. Daniel Bryan will not be denied, and Roman Reigns will not be forced out of this match. This will lead to a double count out
My Prediction Double Count Out.

Daniel Bryan: A New Attitude

In 2012 the Yes Movement was born. Daniel Bryan is one of those special superstars who got over better losing than some did winning. Daniel Bryan lost the World Heavyweight Champion to Sheamus in 18 seconds in the opening bout of WrestleMania 28. Throughout that night the Yes chants filled Sun Life Stadium. Since this night, Bryan has risen to be one WWE’s biggest superstars. He is a 4 time World Champion and his popularity keeps on rising and so is his attitude.

When Bryan won the Money in the Bank contract in 2011, everyone said he would be the first guy to unsuccessfully cash in his money in the bank contract. Bryan stated that he was going wait until WrestleMania to cash in his contract. Neither of these things happened. Bryan did cash in his contract successfully but not at WrestleMania. Instead it was at TLC 2011. Big Show defeated Mark Henry in a chairs match and after Henry retaliated at the Big Show, Bryan seized the opportunity to become World Heavyweight Champion.

After winning won the World Heavyweight Title, everyone said he would only be a transitional champion, perhaps he would not hold the title longer than the Royal Rumble. Why would anyone say this? He was just a pure wrestler on the roster who did not really display any microphone skills. It was this time in which he gained an edge. After each win he being grabbing the title and running around the arena yelling YES. We also saw a heel turn. No more mr nice guy. Daniel Bryan was not phased by the giants on smackdown, and he did not hesitate to get in anyones face.
Throughout 2013, Daniel Bryan seemed to be pushed to the back. He was partnered with Kane. The two formed Team Hell No. What many saw as a demotion, the two turned it into gold. They would go back and forth with a “I am the tag team champions,” rant in each others faces, only to hug it out later. After losing the tag team titles Bryan would find himself back in the title picture.
Leading up to SummerSlam 2013, Daniel Bryan would engage in a feud with the face of the company, John Cena. The two displayed great chemistry on the microphone and fans saw Bryan evolve even more. He vowed to beat Cena in a wrestling match and become the WWE Champion. He even reminded Cena that if he was to get fired from the WWE his passion for wrestling would only lead him back to the indies wrestling all over the country.
At SummerSlam, Bryan defeated John Cena to win the WWE Championship. But moments later, Triple H, who was the special guest referee would set Bryan up with a pedigree which led to Randy Orton cashing in his Money in the Bank contract to become champion. Bryan would regain the title at Vengeance but since it was controversial, he would be forced to relinquish the title the next night on Raw. Throughout this time, Bryan’s fan base grew and suddenly he became the most popular guy on the roster.

WrestleMania 30 became YestleMania. Fans showed a desire for Daniel Bryan to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion that rivaled that of Austin during the Attitude Era. As Bryan embraced the Yes Movement, not even Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista could prevent him from achieving his dream. That night, the Authority found out how real the Yes Movement was. Unfortunately for Bryan his title reign ended prematurely due to a neck injury.

Bryan made his return at the 2014 Royal Rumble. He vowed to win the title and go on to WrestleMania and regain his title. But on that night, Bryan, the 10th entry was eliminated early. Roman Reigns went on to win the Rumble, but two weeks later, Bryan reminded everyone that he never lost the title and he went on to challenge Reigns for his number contender spot. The two to face off at Fastlane and the winner faces Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.

Lately Daniel Bryan has taken a very confident approach to regaining his World title. Leading up to Fastlane, Bryan has made it very clear, he is a better wrestler than Reigns and nothing is going to stop him from winning his back his World Title. On the go home episode of Raw, Bryan did color commentary during Roman Reigns match with Kane. At one point during the match, Bryan simply stood up next to the announce table and signaled for the fans to began the YES chants, suddenly Reigns was distracted. Reigns would go on to win the match, but clearly Bryan was in his head. After the match he met with Renee Young and simply said, “If He can’t deal with the Yes Chants tonight, then he not going be able to deal with it at Fastlane, cause its going be more of them”
Just as he did with Cena, Bryan is showing that he not backing down. He admitted that Reigns, is strong and on top of his game, but he has  a lot to prove. He reminded us that he had ONE LESS title defense than Brock Lesnar, therefore shouldn’t have been stripped of the title. When asked about his new attitude, he said, “No more Mr. nice guy because thats how I got my neck broke.” My co-host The Real Dwayne Allen said it best, Daniel Bryan got his goons (The Fans) and he is coming to take back what is rightfully his.
