You are in a bind. One of your wrestlers just got sick and cannot make the PPV and you need an opponent for one of your guys. You need someone who can give him a good match without the need to tell a story. A story that will write itself. That’s exactly what Kurt Angle needed to do. Angle called Daniel Bryan to see if he could borrow AJ Styles for the TLC pay-per-view in order to face Finn Balor. It was that night where the two stole the show. For anyone who didn’t know, they learned that AJ Styles was the guy!
After Styles and Balor stoke the show, Angle praise Shane McMahon for Styles’ performance and for also participating in a match on Monday Night Raw. Little did he know McMahon, Styles, and some members of the Smackdown Live roster would invade the Raw roster and force Angle to watch.

While Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman have found ways to stun the beast they have not been able to conquer him.
