WWE Royal Rumble Predictions

It's that time of year again. Time for the Royal Rumble. I am going to attempt to make predictions for every WWE pay-per-view and keep track of my record. Will I have a perfect year, I doubt it, but hopefully I can have a perfect PPV one of these days.

2 out of 3 Falls for the WWE Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship

The USOs (C) vs Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin

Gable and Benjamin have been on the heels of the USOs for weeks. They almost won the titles, but the referees made a mistake. There will not be a mistake at the Royal Rumble. I see Gable and Benjamin winning the tag titles. They have matching gear, that's not going to waste.

Winner: Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship
Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins (C) vs The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro)

Someone, there is a guy on his computer saying if American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable) were going to split just to be in another tag team, what was the point. However, Jordan is in the best possible situation. He is currently a champion with Seth Rollins and playing the role of the teammate who likes to take credit for everything. With that being said, he will be the reason they retain the titles.

Winner: Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins

Handicap Match for the WWE Championship
AJ Styles (C) vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

This match could go many ways. For one, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens could do a double-pin (See WWE Breakdown) and become the Co-WWE Champion, or this could lead to the two breaking up and facing each other at WrestleMania. Personally, I think it's too soon to break them up. They look like they are having too much fun. I do think AJ Styles will win, but he will get help from Shane McMahon. This will lead to Daniel Bryan getting upset and set up a match between those two at WrestleMania.

Winner: AJ Styles

Triple Threat Match for the WWE Universal Championship
Braun Strowman vs Brock Lesnar (C) vs Kane

Perhaps the biggest challenge for the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. He will face not one, but two monsters. The Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman and the Big Red Machine, Kane will challenge Lesnar for the title he has had since WrestleMania. I cannot see Lesnar losing the title yet. This will mimic SummerSlam, where he got tossed around but in the end, he came away with the win.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

1st-Ever Women's Royal Rumble
Winner Gets a Women's Title Shot at WrestleMania 34

History will be made in Philadelphia. We have seen a lot of Royal Rumble matches, but now it is time to see an all-women rumble. Choosing this seems tough, but then again it doesn't. The first winner will go down in the history books. Now before I make predictions, let's go back to Money in the Bank. Carmella won, but the moment was ruined because she didn't grab the briefcase herself. They redid the match and she got it again. I do not see this happening again, but I do believe the winner will be someone we remember. it will be a future Hall of Famer. My prediction on the record to win the first Women's Royal Rumble is Asuka.

Winner: Asuka

Royal Rumble Match
Winner Gets a World Title Shot at WrestleMania 34

The last time the WWE held the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia, fans were NOT happy with the winner. There were a plethora of boos. Twitter blew up in a bad way. Not even The Rock could make the fans happy. Who won? Roman Reigns. Fast forward three years later. They are back in Philadelphia. Reigns just lost the Intercontinental Championship and he has not held a World Title since Father's Day (Money In The Bank) 2016. It seems like it's time for him to get his belt back. So, on the record, I am going with Roman Reigns to win the Royal Rumble. Stay classy Philly, you don't want to highjack the Rumble, and then it comes back to bite you when Stephanie McMahon's Patriots beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl.

More thoughts and wishes: If I could choose a winner, it would be Shinsuke Nakamura and he would go on to WrestleMania and defeat AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.

Winner: Roman Reigns
