Ghost is Broken! But Will Angela Fix Him?

In Episode 505, we saw Ghost at an all-time low. He got drunk at the club and missed Tariq's birthday celebration. Bad enough this is the first birthday he had without his twin Raina. When he finally showed up, he was drunk and out of his mind. He was so drunk that he did not realize that the cake had his daughter's name on it. And then he was ready to fight his own son after Tariq hit him with some cold hard truth. That would lead to Ghost seeking help from a minister.

During his one-on-one with the minister, Ghost comes to the realization that he is the one at fault for everything. Of course, he tried to blame everyone else for everything that is going on around him, but when you look at it, it is his fault. It took another man to point that out to him.

So who should a broken man go to? His wife right? But what if his wife is a major cause for him being broken? Instead, he goes to Angela. I have always said, Ghost wanted to become Jamie and when he was with Angela he can be Jamie. With Tasha, he will always be Ghost. She always wanted to be the biggest damn drug dealer in New York. While Angela did not know that side of him, she saw the man that he wanted to be, legit. Remember, Angela was his first love. He entered the street life with hopes of getting out. His biggest fault was opening one chapter before closing the other.

Wrestlers React To Hulk Hogan (Courtesy of Black Wrestling Alliance)

Here are some reactions to Hulk Hogan... Mark Henry spoke to Busted Open Radio about Hogan's return to the WWE fold. "...I'm hoping he is able to address everybody and voice some concerns. He made an announcement. He apologized... He's like, 'Mark I'll do whatever. Because I want people to see my heart, not what I said anymore. It's an embarrassing thing. I go places and I see people giving me a look I'm not used to getting and it's been that way since that time.' He said, 'I can't live with it like that. I gotta fix it.' And I was like, 'great, you're willing to fix it? I'm willing to help.'" Henry has said there’s a "50-50 split" amongst black wrestlers in the company. The New Day posted a collective statement saying the following... "... We are not happy, or sad, angry or resentful. Who WWE puts into the HOF is totally and completely up to the company and from a career standpoint, there is no argument on whether or not Hogan should have his place...." "On a personal level, when someone makes racist and hateful comments about any race or group of people, especially to the degree that Hogan made about our people, we find it difficult to simply forget, regardless of how long ago it was.. But we also do not respond with more feelings of hate. Instead, we just do not associate with the people who convey or have conveyed this negative and hurtful mindset." Check out Kofi Kingston's Twitter for full statement. The Pope Elijah Burke postedd his personal experience of knowing Hogan and also his faith to define his forgiveness. "Now, being that Pope is a believer I personally believe in forgiveness. Not just from God above, but from your peers among you. To forgive is to release yourself from a certain stronghold moreso than it is for the individual you are forgiving... While consequences are often a result of such error, your error shouldn’t be your definitive story." Cedric Alexander used Twitter to share his happiness for Hogan coming back. And it is being reported that Titus O'Neil walked out of the backstage meeting at Extreme Rules on Sunday! #HulkHogan #ExtremeRules #WWE #Racism #BlackWrestlersMatter #BlackWrestlingAlliance #BlackStarsShine

Ghost Has No Control

When the series Power kicked off, Ghost was someone the average man idolized. He owned a nightclub, lived in a penthouse, and had what seemed like was the perfect family. In addition he was still one of the biggest drug dealers in New York City. His family wanted for nothing. But after a few bad decisions, he has seemed to lose control of his life.

Let’s start with Angela. Angela was his high school sweetheart who didn’t see him as Ghost but Jamie. In the beginning, he was trying to get out of the game and have nothing but legit income, but his wife Tasha was not happy with that. Fast forward Ghost found himself in a few situations where he had to stay in the game. Eventually he would lose Angela. While she loves him, she arrested him when she believed he killed another man she loved. Now Ghost needs her and she is no where to be found.

Then there is Tommy and Kanan. In what seemed like it was going to be a happy family reunion due to a common enemy, he finds himself in a situation where he is being controlled by some strangers due to the fact that Tommy got a couple of hitman killed because of his own recklessness. As far as Kanan, you can’t trust him no further than you can throw him. So that’s someone else Ghost has to keep his eye on.

Moving on to Tasha. We cannot forget that these two where on the brick of divorce before Ghost went to jail. Now she is questioning his every move and no longer is she the loyal ride or die wife. She hasn’t turn her back on him completely but now she has her own love interest.

Now we have Tariq. Every father dreams of having a son. Someone who can be his second chance at life. To clean up all the mistakes. What does Tariq do? He goes down the same path and why? Because Ghost got distracted at a crucial time in Tariq’s life and he also lied to him. Now Tariq is the most hated child on television and communicating with Dre, his dad’s nemesis behind his back. So not only does Tariq know his dad want to kill Dre, he is essentially protecting him. Again Ghost has no control over his own son.

Last there is Councilman Tate. Can you say snake in the grass? This guy has his own agenda and does not care what Ghost thinks. He wants Ghost to be his puppet. Anytime you try to exploit the death of a man’s daughter for your own political gain already shows everyone what type of guy they are dealing with. So we know Ghost has no control over this situation.

It will be interesting to see what it will take for Ghost to regain some control in his life. The moment he killed the drunk driver was an example of Ghost trying to find something to make him feel better after not only losing his daughter but his life in general.

Wrestling For The Culture: July 15th

Hulk Hogan is BACK!

You may wonder, what does this have to do with #WrestlingForTheCulture, but we all know why Hulk Hogan was suspended. Everyone deserves a second chance, so I am happy he is back. Here are some reactions.

Bobby Lashley Victorius

Bobby Lashley defeated Roman Reigns at WWE Extreme Rules and after Kurt Angle said that he would strip Brock Lesnar of the Universal Championship if he doesn't defend the title, Lashley could be next in line to wear the gold.

Shinsuke Finally Gets Gold!

After coming up short of the WWE Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Jeff Hardy in his first attempt at the United States Championship. Nakamura hit Hardy with his infamous low blow before the match and then hit him with his finisher.  How long will Nakamura hold the title? Only time will tell. Why do I ask? Because the Viper Randy Orton came out and stared at Nakamura and then kicked Hardy below the belt. We all know Orton has a special way of sending messages.

Cedric Alexander Retains!

Determined to make a name for himself, Cedric Alexander defeated Hideo Itami this past week on 205 Live. Alexander stated going into this match that he needed to establish himself by beating a legend like Itami.

Ariela Nyx Title Reign off to a Great Start.

Ariela Nyx defeats Corinne Mink in her first title defense. She will defend her Capitol Wrestling Women's Championship against Jordynne Gracy at Colossal Confrontation.

Lio Rush All Smiles for Now

After winning his match on 205 Live, Lio Rush was confronted by former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Akira Tozawa. I believe this feud will help Rush in the end. He won't be smiling as much, but he will prove that he has a future in the business beyond 205 Live.

Willie Mack is Hardcore!

Willie Mack defeated Andy Phoenix at House of Hardcore 48 to retain the House of Hardcore Twitch Television Championship.

The Rascalz Hold onto the PWG Tag Team Titles

Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz defeat the Young Bucks to retain the PWG Tag Team Titles.

Tommy, Who Can You Trust?

Plot Twist! Tony Teresi, Tommy's father is out of jail, after serving what Tommy believed was going to be a life sentence, but after making a "deal with the devil" Teresi is now once again, seeing the light of day. Tommy is immediately suspicious, after all, he still does not know Teresi.

Tommy asked for advice from both Kanan and Keisha, but both of them encourage him to build a relationship with Teresi. But the one person who is also suspicious, Tommy cannot trust her either and that is his mother. The same woman who, within reason, wanted Tommy to stay away from him. But it is hard to believe someone who is a drug addict that lies all the time. I don't see Teresi making it through the season. Considering he is working with the feds, it will not be long for Tommy to get smartened up. But we cannot forget Toresi's people still have Tommy by the neck. So clearly he has made a few enemies. It will be interesting to see if Teresi will let them know he is out jail and when he does, will they be able to trust him as well. Join me on The Flex Zone this Monday Night as I discuss Episode 503.

DeAngelo Williams Back on Impact

Everyone's favorite wrestling insider, Dave Meltzer stated that Williams has the opportunity to be one of the greatest wrestlers he's ever seen. Haku and His Boys, Tama Tonga and Tanga Roa Attack Kenny Omega

Fresh off his successful title defense, The Guerillas of Destiny, Tama Tonga and Tanga Roa, along with their dad Haku destroyed Kenny Omega and the Bullet Club. And they reminded everyone that they are the foundation of the Bullet Club.

Jay Lethal Trouble?

Last week, Jay Lethal won his second Ring of Honor World Championship. This week Taeler Hendrix responded to someone on Twitter revealing that her career at ROH was altered because she would not sleep with Lethal. The company had this to say about the allegations.

"We were troubled to hear the allegations that surfaced last night on Twitter. We take these matters very seriously and will be investigating this situation thoroughly, reviewing all evidence related to the matter. Ring of Honor strives to provide an environment and workplace where male and female wrestlers are free from any misconduct or abuse. We will take appropriate action upon the conclusion of our findings."

First off, I really hate to say that we are in the #MeToo movement. Movements end. Does that mean it will be ok to start raping women once its over? Not in my eyes.

Of course Lethal responded with a normal PR response:

New UFC Champion calls out WWE Universal Champion

After winning the UFC Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Cormier decided to call out Brock Lesnar. Lesnar responded with a shove and perhaps his best promo ever. What does this mean for the WWE Universal Championship? I will discuss this on this weeks episode of Break It Down With Brian H.

Moonwalk into a DDT

I do not know who he is, but nothing spells out wrestling for the culture than a moonwalk that becomes a DDT.

Next week on #MLWFusion, Low Ki will take on MLW Champion Shane Strickland and if he wins, he will be $50,000 richer. A bounty set by Salina de la Renta.

I’m Excited for the Duo of LeBroZo

Only Sunday July 1st, the Los Angeles Lakers broke the internet as they acquired perhaps their biggest free agent in franchise history, LeBron James. Now I know that’s a huge statement considering they acquired Shaquille O’Neal and Jamaal Wilkes who won three titles each with the team, but like the Shaq acquisition, the Lakers are instantly back on everyone’s radar. And if there is anything we know about LeBron, we know he does not miss the playoffs. And now Lonzo Ball, a guy who Magic Johnson laid out an expectation to have his jersey hanging in the rafters of the Staples Center, will be able to pass to the best basketball player on he planet.

It is known that Lonzo grew up idolizing LeBron. To be able to play on the same team as him in your hometown is an absolute dream. LeBron has not played with a point guard that compares to Jason Kidd the way Lonzo does. We also know that Lonzo is not a selfish player. When he was drafted by the Lakers, the first thing he said he wanted to do was make Brandon Ingram a star. Clearly he does not have to do that with LeBron but he will be able to learn a lot from him.

Another thing exciting if you are a fan of Lonzo Ball like myself is that he will have a guy like Rajon Rondo to help him along the way. Rondo won a championship in 2008 with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and was apart of the team that fell to the Lakers in 7 games. He almost led the Chicago Bulls to a first round upset in the 2017 NBA Playoffs against the Celtics before he was sidelined due to injury. Many believe this will not work due to the fact that Rondo has been blamed for the rift between the Ray Allen and the Celtics. However there were reports of disappointment in the New Orleans Pelicans locker room after Rondo signed with the Lakers due to the fact he was respected. Rondo spoke with reporters about signing with the Lakers and playing with Lonzo. “(I’m going) try to help him as much as I can, as far as understanding the game and getting his game up to speed at a high level,” Rondo told reporters.

So while everyone thinks they know how the Lakers will unfold this season, as a fan of the greatest NBA franchise, I am the happiest I’ve been since Kobe dropped 60 points in his final game.

Why Tariq Why?

He's the Most Hated Child on TV

The sins of the father always come back to haunt. That is certainly the case with Tariq St. Patrick. While his dad James also known as Ghost was stepping out with Angela, he was distracted from being the father of a teenage son who is growing up in the streets of New York City. Fast forward a couple of years and Tariq is out in the streets trying to be a man.

His attempt at being a man got his sister killed. His twin sister. How worse could it get? Was that enough for the world to hate him? Once he killed his sister's killer you would think some of the viewers would let up right? Well maybe not. But believe it or not, he made fans hate him even more. How? Tariq decided to side with Dre. The man who has been stabbing his father in the back. And Tariq has been protecting him! Why?

When you look at Tariq, he thinks he is a man and he wants to be treated as such. However, his dad is and will continue to look at him as a child. And just as Dre was about to get that smoke, it was Tariq who warned him. How long will it be before we see Dre show Tariq his true colors? Will you ever get to a point you will stop calling for the Power Writers to kill Tariq?
